The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Modern Marketing

Updated: Feb 8, 2023

Talk of a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms have been buzzing around the streets for weeks! So, we're here to talk about the effect new developments within AI technologies will have on the way businesses approach their marketing activity.

From automating repetitive tasks to analysing consumer data, AI is helping us to be more efficient and effective in the work we do.

We've all experienced the AI-powered chatbots that interact with customers on websites or social platforms, answering questions and providing personalised recommendations. So it's no surprise that one of the most significant ways in which AI is impacting marketing is through automation.

AI algorithms can be used to automate tasks such as email marketing, social media management, and content creation. This allows us to focus on more important (and exciting!) tasks such as strategy development and engaging with our customers.

A godsend to the Ouma team, and a way in which AI is saving us copious amounts of time is through data analysis. AI algorithms can analyse large amounts of data, such as consumer behaviour and engagement metrics, to provide insights that can inform our monthly client reports, and our overall marketing strategies. Google Ads are a great example of this; AI is used to analyse data to identify patterns and trends in consumer behaviour, which is then used to provide information on how you could enhance the performance of your Ad. Additionally, AI can be used to analyse website data to identify patterns in user behaviour and make recommendations for improving the user experience.

AI can also be used to create personalised experiences for customers. For example, using pixel data, Facebook can analyse customer data and create targeted marketing campaigns that are tailored to specific groups of people. This can include personalised content, offers, and product recommendations, which can help to increase customer engagement and conversion rates.

It's clear to see how AI is playing a major role in modern marketing and how it's helping businesses to be more efficient and effective in their efforts, but it's important to note that AI is ultimately data analysis and research technology, and the new platforms such as ChatGTP should be utilised as such. The best marketing campaigns still come from real people (like us!), using creativity, strategy and empathy.
