Ouma's October Round Up!

Updated: Nov 16, 2020

Well, Hello November...

We've carved out the pumpkins, devoured the sweets and now we're gearing up for winter. As always, we have big ambitions in mind for the run-up to Christmas, but first, let's recap on October.

A busy and chaotic month for Ouma, as we've successfully steered clients through local and national lockdowns, supporting with socials, email campaigns and much more. Now, with just one week left of strict government restrictions, we can almost breathe a sigh of relief and relax (well, maybe that's a little too optimistic!)

At Ouma, we don't ever stop - we're here, ready to take on the modern-day marketing challenges faced by our clients, and October was no exception to the rule.

Last month's bigger projects included a variety of exciting new website developments, including this beautiful statement for the luxurious British Aesthetics Clinic. Using a soft-toned colour palette to compliment the website's sleek and simplistic design, we've enhanced the cosmetic brand to better align with the luxury products and services on offer. Minimalist, eloquent and original - we love it, they love it, and we think you will too.

For those more inspired by courses than cosmetics, our recent launch of the 'Leaders in Business' website might just be the one to excite you. A deeper, darker colour selection emphasises the core messaging behind our client's brand, and with content to match and engaging visual design throughout - we've pulled out all the stops for the UK's leading provider of training and development courses.

Whoever thought WiFi could look this good? Well, thanks to Ouma, Connect Wi-Fi are now able to showcase their incredible broadband solutions through a simplistic and eye-catching website design. We've delivered on our client brief, to provide an easy-to-navigate website, where users can quickly and easily find the information they need. With a subtle touch of graphic design expertise, we've finished Connect Wi-Fi with fitting illustrations bespoke to their company brand.

Though it's not all about websites at Ouma. This month, we've supported our client Mrs Bucket, through an exciting new rebrand celebrating 15 years in business. From email campaigns to promote their latest company developments, through to announcement social posts and internal communications - it's been a pleasure to support in their visions for the future.

Our client repertoire is growing rapidly, and with that comes team progression and in-house developments too. We've recently promoted our Copywriter to a senior position at Ouma, and Michelle will now take lead on the written content creation at our agency. Just under a year ago, we promised Michelle a career opportunity where she could grow into her role and this month, we made good on that promise. It's an exciting time for both Michelle and Ouma, and we're looking forward to what the future brings!

All work and no play makes for… well, a very boring office job! Thankfully, at Ouma we do things differently, and this month, despite the chaos and madness of our workload - we've still found the time to have some fun! No suits and ties here, just bright striped t-shirts and oversized glasses! If you follow our socials, you'll have seen our Where's Wally Halloween antics, as we attempted to bring a smile to the clients we work with! Of course, we couldn't resist taking a few sneaky pictures, so if you missed us on the weekend - here's what we got up to!

We should probably mention these photos were all taken pre-lockdown, and now we're all safely tucked away working from home!

The break away from our office desks has given us all a little time to relax, sit back and enjoy the offerings of Netflix. If you're anything like us, you'll have been intrigued by the latest social media documentary to hit our screens and "The Social Dilemma" has definitely stirred up conversations for the team at Ouma. In our most recent blog post, we discuss social media in depth, as we talk you through the best practices for ethical marketing and how you can better manage your social engagement. You can read our latest insight here:

Of course, we're all aware that social media consumption has the potential to affect our mental health, and combined with the effects of the recent pandemic such as furlough and job losses, poverty struggles and loneliness - the conversation around mental health has never been so relevant.

Ouma are proud to be supporting Samaritans Cymru with their latest welsh-language campaign. Throughout this month, we've worked closely with the charity to develop effective targeted ads, social media content and visual campaigns to raise awareness of the support on offer. If you, or anyone you know might benefit from the listening service available through Samaritans, here's all the information you'll need to get in touch.

And that pretty much rounds up our October. From our not-so-spooky Halloween celebrations, through to exciting website developments, in-house promotions and great new social campaigns, it's been a busy few weeks for Ouma, and we're fairly certain November will be much of the same!

PS: Does anyone have the tinsel out yet or is it just us?
